The LSU women’s basketball took a tumble in the rankings following last weekend’s loss to Auburn, which was its first in SEC play.
But the Tigers remained in the top 10, and after a 2-0 week that featured decisive wins over Alabama and Arkansas, they are moving back up in the rankings. In the latest AP Top 25, they moved up one spot to No. 9.
That will set up a top-10 matchup on Thursday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as undefeated No. 1 South Carolina comes to town with ESPN’s College GameDay in attendance. LSU will look to snap the Gamecocks’ nation-leading 27-game road winning streak.

The Tigers are 18-2 on the year and 4-1 in SEC play so far. With a win on Thursday night, they would almost certainly climb back into the top five.
