LSU women’s basketball holds place in AP Top 25 after loss to No. 1 South Carolina

LSU’s loss to South Carolina didn’t ultimately cost it in the rankings.

The Tigers had a chance to be a big mover in this week’s AP Top 25.

The LSU women’s basketball team took No. 1 South Carolina down to the wire and had its opportunities to win, but it ultimately came up short in a frustrating 76-70 loss to the Gamecocks.

Still, it didn’t ultimately have a negative impact on the Tigers in the rankings. In the latest AP Top 25, they remained No. 9 despite losing to South Carolina, which was the unanimous No. 1 selection once again.

There was a lot of movement around LSU, but coach Kim Mulkey’s team has been fairly stable in the rankings al year.

LSU will look to bounce back from the loss on Monday night when it hits the road to take on Mississippi State.
