LSU has quickly become a power program in women’s college basketball. Coach [autotag]Kim Mulkey[/autotag] won the school’s first national title in the sport in just her second year, and with a loaded team in 2023-24, she could be poised for a repeat.
There was naturally a lot of excitement around the team as the Tigers made their run to a title, and that translated in terms of attendance. LSU ranked fifth nationally in terms of total attendance this past season with 148,468.
Only South Carolina, Iowa, UConn and Tennessee had more.
When you look at average attendance, the Tigers sit just outside the top five at No. 6 with 8,733 per game. Though that’s just under two-thirds of the listed capacity at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the attendance exceeded that by quite a bit for several of the top games this season.
The highlight was a record-setting sellout of 15,571 for LSU’s win over Mississippi State on senior night.
