The Quarterback Tale of the Tape
How Max Johnson compares to Emory Jones. Jones would take over for the departing Kyle Trask from last season. He split time with Anthony Richardson early on, but it appears to be Emory Jones spot. We look at how he compares to Max Johnson:
Max Johnson | vs | Emory Jones |
6-5 | Ht | 6-2 |
220 | Wt | 211 |
Sophomore | Class | RS Junior |
135 | Comp | 106 |
219 | Att | 156 |
61.6 | Comp% | 67.9 |
1,729 | Yards | 1,143 |
7.9 | YPA | 7.3 |
17 | TDs | 10 |
4 | INTs | 7 |
We give the advantage to Johnson in yard, yards per attempt, touchdowns, and interceptions. Jones has almost double the turnovers to that of Johnson, but he has completed more passes this season. He isn’t having to throw it nearly as much given that the Gators have the No. 1 rushing attack in the SEC.
When it comes to being a dual-threat, Jones gets the upper hand here. He averages 6.4 yards per carry and has two rushing touchdowns on the season. Florida can give an LSU defense fits running the ball at the quarterback position, against Kentucky, the defense allowed Will Levis to run at will against them.
