LSU football owns the top-ranked transfer portal class in the country, according to 247Sports. But the Tigers are looking to add more.
Three positions remain a need for Brian Kelly and LSU. Safety, offensive line, and tight end.
LSU already strengthened the tight end spot along with the offensive line, but with depleted depth, LSU wants more. The Tigers are yet to sign a safety.
In the coming days, LSU will host a couple of defensive backs along with former Texas A&M tight end Donovan Green.
There aren’t any reports of LSU hosting an offensive lineman, but when speaking with the media before the Texas Bowl, Kelly said LSU is still looking in that department.
LSU signed Braelin Moore (Virginia Tech) and Josh Thompson (Northwestern), but both are interior guys. With LSU losing both starting tackles, LSU could use a Power Four tackle with experience.
Tyree Adams impressed in the bowl game and LSU is high on rising sophomore Weston Davis, but veterans are needed.
At safety, the story is the same. LSU is losing a couple of veterans and the current options lack experience. Safety was a liability for LSU in 2024 and the Tigers could use a difference maker on the backend.
As far as tight end goes, after losing Mason Taylor to the draft and Ka’Morreun Pimpton to the transfer portal, the room was left thin. LSU returns Trey’Dez Green and signed Oklahoma transfer Bauer Sharp, but insurance is needed.
