LSU star left tackled Will Campbell named AP All-American

LSU left tackle Will Campbell received his highest honor yet on Monday

The accolades continue to pour in for LSU star left tackle Will Campbell, as he was named an All-American by the Associated Press on Monday.

Campbell has gotten used to these postseason awards in his LSU career. He was a freshman All-American in 2022 and coaches’ first-team All-SEC in 2023.

Despite the previous decoration, Monday’s honor checked a new box for Campbell. He entered the year as a pre-season All-American and met the hype, ending up on the same list at the end of the year.

Campbell, a three-year starter at LSU, declared for the NFL draft earlier this month. He will not play in LSU’s Texas Bowl meeting with Baylor as he prepares for the draft process.

Campbell was a member of LSU’s record-setting offense in 2023 and the headliner of a unit that was named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, annually given to the best offensive line in college football.

Few offensive linemen in LSU history have equaled Campbell’s impact. He’ll go down as one of the best players to ever don the LSU uniform.

LSU’s offense line struggled in 2020 and 2021 as the Ed Orgeron era came to a close. Campbell’s arrival in 2022 helped flip the script as the unit became a strength.
