LSU showing interest in Kent State defensive end transfer

LSU football is showing interest in one of the MAC’s top transfers

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, and LSU football is already showing interest in several prospects, including Kent State defensive end transfer Kameron Olds.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Olds is the No. 55 ranked transfer in the portal. Olds began his career with Buffalo and saw limited action in two years. After transferring to Kent State, 2024 was a breakout year. Olds piled up 30 pressures and seven sacks with the Golden Flashes, according to PFF.

He’s 6’4′ and 240 pounds, giving him the length to play in the SEC.

When Olds got chances against P4 programs in 2024, he made the most of it. He kicked the season off with five sacks and a pressure vs. Pitt. Two weeks later, he notched another pressure vs. Tennessee. Against Penn State, Olds has three pressures, a stop and an interception.

LSU needs to rebuild its defensive end room with Bradyn Swinson and Sai’Vion Jones graduating and Da’Shawn Womack entering the transfer portal.

If LSU can land Olds, along with some proven P4 players, LSU is headed in the right direction.

The Tigers made strides on defense in 2024, but a more complete unit is needed in Blake Baker’s second year at DC.

LSU’s sack rate was one of the best in the nation in 2024. If LSU wants a repeat, it needs to seal the deal with transfers like Olds.
