LSU safety Jordan Allen becomes next Tiger to hit the portal

Another LSU defender is entering the transfer portal

Another LSU Tiger is hitting the transfer portal. This time, from the secondary.

Safety Jordan Allen plans to enter his name into the transfer portal when it opens next week. Allen was a three-star in 2022 — Brian Kelly’s first class at LSU. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he was the No. 506 overall recruit in the class.

Allen played sparingly as a freshman and sophomore. He was primed for a bigger role in 2024 but spent much of the year on the injury report. He started LSU’s first two games against USC and Nicholls.

According to PFF, he finishes his LSU career with 16 tackles, five stops, and a pass breakup. He was targeted eight times and allowed 73 yards in coverage.

In four games, he had nine tackles and two stops. Allen provided depth and would have competed for a starting job next year.

LSU is gearing up to reset at the safety position in 2025. Along with Allen entering the portal, Major Burns is graduating.
