LSU running back commit breaks Louisiana All-Time rushing record

Trey Holly is the new all-time high school leading rusher in the Pelican State.

Heading into the Union Parish Farmers’ fourth game of the 2022 season, 2023 Tigers commit [autotag]Trey Holly[/autotag] was 247 yards shy of Nick Brossette’s state career record of 8,704 yards that he set at University Lab from 2010-14.

In the Farmers’ 62-12 win over the Bastrop Rams, Holly ran for over 250 yards to break the record. His journey to breaking the record started in the eighth grade as he ran for 849 yards in his first varsity season. He followed that up with a 1,638-yard season as a freshman and a combined 5,342 yards and 77 touchdowns in his sophomore and junior seasons.

To celebrate the record, Holly rushed over to his family in the endzone to give them the ball he carried to break the record and to celebrate the huge accomplishment.

With at least six more games in his senior campaign, how many yards will Holly finish with? Will his record ever be broken? That remains to be seen, as for now, he will celebrate holding the record.
