The LSU Tigers received more good news on Monday evening when starting right tackle Austin Deculus announced he was returning to the team in 2021.

Deculus becomes the fourth member of LSU’s starting offensive line to announce their intention to return next season. Left tackle Dare Rosenthal is the only member of last season’s starting unit who still hasn’t announced his intentions for next season.

Earlier in the offseason, left guard Ed Ingram, center Liam Shanahan and right guard Chasen Hines each individually announced they would be coming back.

LSU is also returning all four starters from its 2020 starting defensive line.

The 6-foot-6, 331-pound Deculus is a three-year starter for the Tigers with 34 career starts under his belt. His return is a big one for new offensive coordinator Jake Peetz.

Deculus becomes the latest Tiger to take advantage of the NCAA granting fall athletes an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
