After having a breakout first campaign with the Tigers in 2022, quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] has stepped things up considerably this fall.
A legitimate Heisman candidate, Daniels has become one of the nation’s most prolific passers. He sits near the top of the FBS in nearly every passing metric, and in On3’s latest quarterback rankings, he cracks the top five.
Daniels sits at No. 4 behind Caleb Williams — the likely top pick in next year’s draft — as well as Heisman favorite Michael Penix Jr. and Drake Maye. Bo Nix rounds out the top five.
Here’s what On3’s Andrew Graham said about Daniels’ play.
Perhaps the Heisman favorite at this point, Daniels was off in Week 9. He’ll have a chance to shine on a massive stage against Alabama this Saturday.
Even with a week off, Daniels is leading CFB in plenty of statistical categories. He’s tops (or tied for tops) in the country in: Passing yards per attempt (standard and adjusted), passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, total yards and yards per play.
If Daniels can deliver another big game this weekend and lead another upset over Alabama, he will likely become the Heisman favorite and continue to rise on lists like these.
