LSU starting quarterback [autotag]Garrett Nussmeier[/autotag] has been announced as a player on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm preseason watch list.
The [autotag]Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award[/autotag] is given out every year to the most outstanding upperclassman quarterback. LSU will look to go back-to-back for that award as [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] won the award last season.
Nussmeier has bided his time and has been a backup for [autotag]Max Johnson[/autotag] and Daniels during his three years on the Bayou. Now, it is his time to shine. He got his first start last season in the bowl game against Wisconsin. Nussmeier led the Tigers to a win and finished the game going 31-for-45 throwing for 395 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
Nussmeier is ready to take the next step this year as he looks to lead LSU back to the National Championship game. He is surrounded by a lot of talent as [autotag]CJ Daniels[/autotag], [autotag]Kyren Lacy[/autotag], and [autotag]Kaleb Jackson[/autotag]. He is also protected by the best line in the country.
