LSU pushing the NCAA Tournament field in recent bracketology following win streak

The Tigers are among the Next Four Out despite their NET barely ranking in the top 80.

The Tigers have been hot as of late in the first season under coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag].

LSU’s men’s basketball team sits at 9-1 on the season, and since a controversial loss to Kansas State at the buzzer in the Cayman Islands, this team has won four straight. That includes a 20-point comeback win over a solid power conference foe in Wake Forest.

The Tigers sit at just No. 79 in the NET Rankings thanks to a fairly weak non-conference slate, but ESPN’s Joe Lunardi is still relatively high on them. In his latest bracketology, he has LSU leading the way on the Next Four Out just one spot behind conference foe Ole Miss, who is in the First Four Out.

The SEC is strong and currently projected to land seven teams in the tournament. It will take a good showing in conference play if the Tigers hope to be one of those teams, but Lunardi seems to think that they are relatively close with two more games remaining before league action begins.
