Though [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has intimated that the Tigers won’t be as active in the transfer portal this offseason as they have been in the prior two, that doesn’t mean they aren’t exploring adding a few playmakers.
One of the players LSU is targeting is former North Texas receiver [autotag]Ja’Mori Maclin[/autotag]. The younger cousin of former NFL receiver Jeremy Maclin, Ja’Mori played in two seasons for the Mean Green and has picked up quite a few high-profile offers since entering the portal.
The Kirkwood, Missouri, native was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team in 2022 after recording 16 catches for 380 yards and two touchdowns. He followed that up with a massive 2023 campaign in which he hauled in 57 catches for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns.
That touchdown mark tied for ninth nationally this fall.

Maclin began his career at Missouri, where he spent two seasons. He played in three games as a true freshman in 2020 — totaling one catch — before missing the entire 2021 season due to injury and subsequently transferring.
LSU is likely to lose both [autotag]Malik Nabers[/autotag] and [autotag]Brian Thomas Jr.[/autotag] after this season. With quite a bit of turnover on the offensive side of the ball, adding a proven commodity like Maclin would be a big boost heading into 2024.
