LSU offers four-star athlete from California

The Tigers are going after a USC legacy for whom the Trojans are considered a heavy favorite.

[autotag]Jason Mitchell[/autotag] is a four-star, 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete from Gardena, California, where he plays for Junipero Serra High School.

His father is a former USC wide receiver, also named Jason Mitchell. Hence why the Trojans are crystal-balled to land him and are the 96% favorite per On3.

As most people know, Lincoln Riley is the new head coach for the USC Trojans. Riley had a pretty successful tenure as the head coach at Oklahoma. He always had a good recruiting class, and he is trying to do the same in southern California.

Film Analysis: Mitchell is listed as an athlete for a good reason. He can play wide receiver or cornerback at the next level. He has great ball skills and plays well in zone and man coverage. He loves to come up and hit people. (which could cause future targeting penalties, but we’ll cross that bridge when and if we get there). As a receiver, he does a great job high pointing the ball and making acrobatic grabs. I’m interested to see how his recruitment plays out.
