LSU loses yet another player for the season, Eli Ricks is done in 2021

LSU loses yet another player.

After the report of cornerback Eli Ricks missing the media portion of practice on Tuesday, head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed the news we didn’t want to hear.

On Wednesday morning the head coach announced that sophomore cornerback Eli Ricks is done for the season. After already losing Derek Stingley Jr for an indefinite amount of time, they are now without both of their outstanding cornerbacks.

Ricks has just one interception this season, tied with Cordale Flott and Major Burns for the team lead. He also accounted for 11 tackles and one pass defended. The depth at cornerback will be tested moving forward. Dwight McGlothern stepped up to take on the role in absence of Stingley. Darren Evans is the most likely to have to step up into the role after losing Ricks.

The laundry list of injuries is continuing to take its toll on the team, there are plenty of talented players healthy. It becomes a matter on if it will be enough for the Tigers to find a way to win.
