LSU lost a member of its 2022 recruiting class when New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton defensive tackle Shone Washington announced his decommitment from the program on Sunday.
Washington originally made his pledge to LSU ahead of the 2020 high school football season.
“First off, I want to thank God for the situation I am in,” he wrote. “Second I would like to thank my family and coaches for helping me through this recruiting process. Thank you coach O and coach Johnson for the opportunity to be a Tiger. With that being said I’m de-committing from Louisiana State University and reopening my recruitment.
“2020 has been a hard year for me. I have dealt with a lot. I want to take these next few months to focus on school, getting my body back healthy, and preparing myself physically with my teammates to get ready for our 2021 season.”
