LSU hoping to pull 5-star athlete away from state of Texas

LSU hosted Terry Bussey for an unofficial visit in June.

As the summer winds to a close, it seems we’re approaching a decision from five-star Texas athlete [autotag]Terry Bussey[/autotag].

The dominant two-way player ranks in the top 20 nationally, and though he’s listed as a receiver by 247Sports, he plays dual-threat quarterback and sees action in the secondary on defense, as well.

LSU is one of several schools in the mix for Bussey, who has had a fairly active summer visit schedule. He took officials to Texas and Oklahoma in June with an unofficial trip to Baton Rouge in between.

Bussey, who apparently has LSU fans in his family, said that trip was impactful.

According to On3, Bussey plans to announce a decision prior to the start of his senior season. Texas A&M is the heavy favorite to land him according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, and the Aggies will have the chance to make the last pitch to him this summer when he takes an official visit this weekend.

This seems like the Aggies’ battle to lose, and LSU may sit behind Oklahoma and Texas, as well. Still, the Tigers will hope that June visit was enough to remain in the race as he approaches a decision.
