Auburn has recently expressed its interest in LSU transfer Brandon Murray, but the Tigers aren’t the only team to have reached out to him. Some of the teams that have reached out are Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgetown.
This past season, Murray started 32 of the 33 games that he played in. While helping lead his team to the NCAA Tournament, he averaged 10 points per game and shot 42.6 percent from the floor. The native of Baltimore, Maryland would certainly be an upgrade for the Tigers.
It is likely that Murray would lock down the three-spot in the lineup. That would be similar to the role that [autotag]Allen Flanigan[/autotag] had for [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag]’s squad this past season. Standing at 6’5, Murray stretches the floor well and can also shoot the three-ball fairly well, shooting at a 33.6 percent clip. He will have four years of eligibility remaining if he chooses to use them.
Recently, Auburn has also reached out to South Carolina transfer Erik Stevenson. It is also worth noting that Bruce Pearl and his staff have also reached out to Yohan Traore (LSU decommit) and Julian Phillips (LSU decommit). With the Tigers likely losing [autotag]Jabari Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Walker Kessler[/autotag] and with Devan Cambridge recently entered the portal, they could certainly use a guy like Murray to fill in the scoring void.
LSU transfer and former ESPN đź’Ż prospect Brandon Murray has heard from Auburn, Tenneesee, Illinois, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Kansas St, Maryland, Virginia, Texas A&M, Arkansas & others in the last 24 hours.
