The LSU Tigers haven’t had any trouble recruiting over the years. They have appeared in multiple national championship games over the last two decades. The three different coaches have all hoisted the championship trophy in their tenures in Baton Rouge.
Currently, the Tigers sit at No. 8 in the latest 247Sports composite recruiting rankings for the 2022 class.
On Wednesday, 247Sports released their team composite rankings. This takes into account every player rating on the roster, much like the recruiting rankings. The LSU Tigers came in at No. 5 with 903.53 total points. They are the No. 3 team in the SEC behind Alabama and Georgia.
Team | 5-Stars | 4-Stars | 3-Stars | Points |
Alabama | 14 | 61 | 10 | 1,004.04 |
Georgia | 19 | 47 | 19 | 1,001.79 |
LSU | 6 | 43 | 24 | 903.53 |
Ohio State and Clemson come in between the Bulldogs and Tigers in the rankings at No. 3 and No. 4. Florida checks in at No. 7 and Texas A&M just behind them. Future SEC teams Oklahoma (No. 6) and Texas (No. 11) to round out the top 12. A lot of talented players in the SEC, and that comes as no shock.

Of the Tigers’ six five-star players on the team, they are led by Kayshon Boutte (2020 class), Eli Ricks (2020 class), and Derek Stingley Jr (2019 class). Those three are expected to make huge contributions to the team this upcoming season.
