LSU has a consensus top-5 class in 2025 after 5-star CB DJ Pickett’s commitment

The Tigers are now solidly within the top five after adding the No. 1 cornerback in America.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class got off to a red-hot start, jumping out to a No. 1 overall ranking. Though things cooled off in the middle of the cycle with a couple of high-profile decommitments, things are picking back up.

On Wednesday, the Tigers landed a huge commitment from five-star cornerback [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag], the No. 1 corner in America. Pickett gives LSU its third five-star and second top-10 prospect in the cycle.

The Tigers’ 2025 class was already a fringe top-five group before Pickett committed, and now, it’s solidly in that range. After Pickett pledged, the class ranking jumped up from No. 5 to No. 3 per On3 and No. 6 to No. 4 per 247Sports.

The class has a chance to get even bigger this weekend with a pair of targets committing in top Louisiana cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag], who recently decommitted and will now choose between the Tigers and Miami, and five-star receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag], a Las Vegas prospect who is seemingly down to LSU and Notre Dame.
