Auburn quarterback Bo Nix was exceptional as a freshman, but he needs to improve in 2020. The LSU defense has reloaded, and could pose a threat once more to Auburn’s SEC and College Football Playoff hopes.

The “Tiger Bowl” as it has been called, has always been a crucial divisional game for both LSU and Auburn. LSU leads the all-time series 31-22-1.

The Tigers from Baton Rouge are riding a three-game winning streak in the series over the last three seasons.

The last time Auburn defeated LSU was an 18-13 victory in Auburn in 2016 which was shortly followed by the firing of Les Miles.

Going into the season, both teams are projected to finish between second and fourth in the conference. This game always has conference implications, but this year could be more intriguing.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the SEC could move to a 10-game conference-only schedule. That would make a loss in this game for either team more hurtful to their resume.

LSU comes in with a new quarterback and a new defensive coordinator. The game is currently slated to take place at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn on November 21. This game is the first of two away conference games LSU has to close their 2020 regular season slate.

Auburn will likely come in as a top 15 or top 20 team in the AP Poll when the season starts. Should both teams win enough games, the 2020 edition of the rivalry could be a top 25 matchup once again.
