LSU football’s toughest opponents in 2020: Texas A&M Aggies

Last year, LSU ended their regular season at 12-0 with a 50-7 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Tigers defense sacked Aggies quarterback Kellen Mond five times during the game, and never let up once the offense got rolling.

Fast forward to current times, and life without Joe Burrow will be different in 2020 for the Tigers.

But, junior quarterback Myles Brennan is expected to have everything under control and finally show his patience was worth the wait.

The Tigers travel to College Station to take on the Aggies in the regular season finale on November 28. The last time these two met in College Station, Texas A&M escaped with a 74-72 victory in seven overtimes.

Mond said during the offseason that the Aggies could put up the numbers LSU did last year. But, Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher has yet to win more than nine wins in his two seasons leading the charge.

With a reloaded defensive front and a new-look offense, the Tigers could very well go into College Station and get another win against the Aggies — should the offense be on the same page early on.

The Aggies always provide a tough challenge for the Tigers as their now permanent regular season finale opponent. However, since Texas A&M moved to the SEC in 2012, they have only beaten LSU once, with the lone win coming in 2018.

The 2020 college football season could be a whirlwind, and a loss for LSU could end their SEC Championship hopes or a New Year’s Six bowl berth chance depending on their record entering the game.
