LSU football loses another commitment in 2022 recruiting class

As LSU head coach Ed Orgeron put the finishing touches on his coaching staff this week, the Tigers lost another committed prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.

Bryce Anderson, a four-star safety from West Brook High in Beaumont, Texas, announced on Twitter he was backing off his pledge to LSU and reopening his recruiting.

I would like to thank Coach Orgeron and the entire Coaching Staff at Louisiana State University for showing me and my family love throughout this entire process. What I’ve learned most is that the recruiting process mirrors life. It’s about values and relationships. I want to be certain that I am making the best decision for myself, my future and my family. With that being said, I will be de-committing from LSU and opening up my recruitment.

This is LSU’s fourth decommitment in the 2022 class, which isn’t unusual considering the COVID-19 pandemic, which has shut down in-person recruiting, visits and camps.

LSU also has a revamped coaching staff, and some players may look elsewhere when the coach who recruited them is no longer with the team.

The Tigers still have the No. 4 recruiting class in 2022, with seven players currently on board, per 247Sports.
