The coronavirus pandemic has had a large effect on sports, but hasn’t taken a toll on the recruiting success of football programs like LSU.
The Tigers have been on a roll lately, landing four-star inside linebacker Greg Penn from Hyattsville, Maryland on Sunday.
“I am going to LSU – Louisiana State University,” Penn said in a report from 247Sports. “Their track record with linebackers and getting them to the next level is really unbelievable the last couple of years. I really want to be a part of that.”

The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder chose LSU over the likes of Maryland, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee — all of which were in his list of top six schools.
247Sports lists Penn as the No. 183 overall prospect in the country, No. 9 inside linebacker, and No. 10 overall prospect in the state of Maryland.
The Tigers now sit at 16 commitments for the Class of 2021, No. 5 overall in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
