LSU football doesn’t appear in AP Top 25 heading into Week 11

LSU remains outside of the AP Top 25 rankings for Week 11 heading into a pivotal matchup against the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

The AP released its weekly Top 25 on Sunday, and the LSU Tigers remain out of the poll.

Sitting at 2-3 on a bye week, the Tigers are under .500 with a match-up against the Alabama Crimson Tide looming on Saturday.

LSU is coming off a 48-11 loss at Auburn nearly two weeks ago. Freshman quarterback TJ Finley earned his first road start for the Tigers.

The Tigers’ three SEC losses have put a dent in their chances at making a quality bowl game, and the road only gets tougher from here.

The SEC has five teams ranked in the updated AP Top 25 heading into week 11 of the college football season.

Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M are in the top five, and the Tigers still have to play all three of those teams before the end of the season.

LSU hosts No.1 Alabama on Saturday inside Tiger Stadium at 5 pm CT. Tigers quarterback Myles Brennan is still uncertain for the game, as he has been limited in practice.

If Brennan can’t play against Alabama, there could be a quarterback competition this week between Finley and fellow freshman Max Johnson to determine the starter for the game.

A win for LSU would put them in the conversation to be ranked next week, especially if they defeat the top ranked team in the country.

The open date for the Tigers didn’t help their case to be ranked, especially sitting with three losses. Had the Tigers been 3-2 entering the bye week, there could have been discussions about entering them back into the Top 25.

Here is the updated AP Top 25 after 10 weeks of college football.
