Many football programs in the country are recruiting 2023 four-star recruit Braylon James, including the LSU Tigers. The Tigers officially gave an offer to James last week, and according to the 6-foot-3 wide receiver, this is the offer he’s been waiting for.
“This is one I’ve been working for my whole life,” James told 247Sports this week. “Since the Les Miles days, I was always a huge fan of them.”
The Texas native is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 17 wide receiver in the country and the No. 21 player in Texas. Overall, he ranks as the No. 126 player in the 2023 recruiting class.
According to James, the many connections he has to LSU fuels his love for Ed Orgeron’s football program.

“Coach Orgeron’s uncle was my dad’s principal. So my dad knew him,” explained James. “My dad went to high school with Ja’Marr Chase’s dad and mom.
He also says he is also related by marriage to Tyrann Mathieu, and he believes personal connections like these will help him matriculate as a collegiate athlete.
But the recruiting process still isn’t going to be easy for LSU, as there are many other top football programs on his radar.
Other schools in the running to land James include Stanford, California, Texas Tech, Miami, and Clemson, among others.
