2022 Donaldsonville (La.) Ascension Catholic defensive end J’Mond Tapp received an offer from LSU, as he announced via Twitter on Friday.
Tapp also has offers on the table from Baylor, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Memphis, Washington State and South Carolina, among other programs.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder ranks within the 247Sports Composite as the No. 135 overall prospect in the country, No. 10 weak-side defensive end nationally and No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana.
He’s listed as a four-star recruit on 247Sports — the No. 169 overall prospect in the country, No. 9 weak-side defensive end in the nation and No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana.

Tapp is coming off a strong 2020 season where he recorded 64 tackles, 13 for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Tapp knows he brings a lot to the table as a three-sport athlete.
“All of the above(rush the passer, set edge, run game),” Tapp told 247Sports. “I mean that’s my mindset, but I wouldn’t be able to do either without my teammates.”
It will be interesting to see how he continues to build off that, and if he ultimately ends up staying in Louisiana to play out his college career with the Tigers.
