LSU cracks the top 7 for elite 2023 EDGE

The Tigers will look to land one of the top edge rushers in the class.

The Tigers remain in the mix for some of the best available prospects in this recruiting cycle, and they got good news from one of them on Saturday.

Five-star athlete [autotag]Nyckoles Harbor[/autotag] announced his top seven schools, and LSU was among the finalists for the talented Washington, D.C., prospect who attends Archbishop Carroll. Also included in Harbor’s top seven were Michigan, USC, Miami, Maryland, Georgia and South Carolina.

He’s listed as an athlete according to the 247Sports Composite, but he is considered a likely edge rusher at the next level. He plays defensive end, linebacker, tight end and wide receiver at the high school level, and he also participates in track and is looking to continue that at the next level.

Here’s what he had to say about LSU, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“The relationship I have with Coach Cain and the LSU track and field staff is, I’ll say, the best relationship I have with a school overall,” Harbor said. “I just love track and football there, and what they are doing on both sides and they’re always in the running for everything. It makes me feel like I can come in and make an instant impact anywhere I go.”

Harbor is the No. 12 player nationally in the 2023 class and is ranked as the No. 1 athlete. Bringing him to Baton Rouge would be a big win for coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag], who is still looking to land the first five-star prospect in his bump class.
