LSU basketball currently sits at 8-2 on the season. However, the Tigers have no Top 25 wins.
On Monday, the new AP Top 25 poll was released and the Tigers are still unranked.
With the Missouri game last Saturday being postponed due to virus issues, LSU faced Ole Miss instead. But had the team played Missouri, the program would have had a chance at the first ranked win of the year.
The lack of a ranked win is keeping the Tigers out of the rankings. As of now, the only ranked team LSU will face in SEC play is No. 10 Tennessee. But LSU does host No. 15 Texas Tech in the Big 12/SEC Challenge later in January.

LSU defeated Georgia last Wednesday 94-92 in overtime before beating Ole Miss 75-61 this past Saturday. Though the Tigers continue to win games, the program may not become ranked in the top 25 for a while.
In last week’s AP Poll, LSU received just two votes to be ranked. This week however, the Tigers received seven votes.
LSU hosts Arkansas on Wednesday in a crucial SEC battle and on Saturday, South Carolina comes to Baton Rouge.
Here is the Week 8 AP Top 25 college basketball poll.
