When the Week 7 AP Top 25 poll was released on Monday, LSU basketball was nowhere to be found.
Despite going 1-1 last week and sitting at 6-2 overall, the Tigers are unranked. Without a convincing top 25 win so far, LSU has yet to be ranked all season through the team’s first eight games.
The program suffered a crushing loss at Florida last weekend but opened SEC play mid week with a convincing win over a quality Texas A&M Aggies team.
LSU hosts Georgia in two days before traveling to Missouri on Saturday. This week, Will Wade and the Tigers have a chance to earn two strong wins. Getting a victory in both games could push the team into the Top 25 next week.

When the latest edition of the poll was released, LSU did receive votes, though. The Tigers received just three votes in this week’s poll to be ranked.
As it stands, LSU sits far behind other quality teams for a spot in the rankings.
In the SEC, two teams are listed in the top 25 with three other conference teams listed in the receiving votes section along with LSU.
Florida, Arkansas and Alabama all received votes with the Tigers, while Tennessee and Missouri are the only two ranked teams from the SEC.
