LSU basketball has one of the nation’s Top 30 overall prospects in town this weekend for an official visit.
That player is 2022 four-star combo guard Chance Westry, and as reported by 247Sports’ Billy Embody, Tigers head coach Will Wade and his staff are making a strong push for him.
Westry is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 26 overall prospect in the country, the No. 5 combo guard and the No. 5 prospect in the state of California.
He’s taking his recruitment process slow for now in order to find the perfect fit where he can focus on playing point guard. In addition to the interest he’s displayed in LSU, Westry has already taken visits to Syracuse, Nebraska and Auburn.

Maryland is also expected to be a program to watch for him.
Westry seems confident in what he brings to the table as a basketball player.
“I think it is being a great defender,” he said in an interview with 247Sports.
“I get excited about playing defense and being real active and getting up and down the floor.”
It will be interesting to see if he ultimately lands in Baton Rouge.
