LSU at Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s LSU at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The LSU Tigers (4-2, 2-1 SEC) and the Florida Gators (4-2, 1-2) meet in a conference game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the LSU vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Tigers saw their 4-game winning streak come to a crashing halt last week in Death Valley, as Tennessee came down to Baton Rouge and rocked the Bayou Bengals 40-13. The Under has now cashed in 4 straight for LSU.

The Gators eased by Missouri last week, 24-17, but they failed to cover the 11-point number. Florida is 4-1 in 5 games at home, going 2-3 ATS.

The defense has been on the rise for UF, allowing just 17 points in each of the past 2 outings after yielding 26 or more points in each of the first 4 contests.

LSU at Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 23, LSU 20

Moneyline

FLORIDA (-130) is worth playing straight up, as this one should be a very close game. To be honest, there isn’t a ton of difference between these 2 sides. You have to expect this will be a 1-score game, perhaps coming right down to the very end in a defensive fight.

Against the spread

FLORIDA -2.5 (-108) is a good play as long as the line stays below a flat 3 or a 3-and-a-hook, but still play it lightly.

The Gators are just 3-10 ATS in the past 13 games overall, while cashing just twice in the previous 9 in The Swamp. In addition, Florida is 1-6 ATS in the past 7 SEC outings.

The Tigers have some ugly numbers, too, going 1-4 ATS in the past 5 on the road. While the underdog has cashed in 6 straight in this series, the line has been a lot higher than this tiny number.

Over/Under

UNDER 50.5 (-105) is a decent play despite the series trends, which point to the Over. In fact, the Over is 4-0 in the past 4 meetings overall, but that’s when we had much better offenses for each of these teams.

The Under has cashed in 4 in a row for LSU, and that trend is much more important than the historical H2H trends above. The Under is also 6-1 in LSU’s past 7 inside the conference, while the Under is 7-3 in Florida’s past 10 SEC games and 8-3 in the past 11 at home.
