Michigan State will be looking to Maliq Carr to have a breakout season in 2023, and he is apparently finally ready to accept his role in their offense.
The Lansing State Journal did a story on the Spartans’ top tight end this week, which focused on Carr’s growth within his position. A notable quote from the story was that “Maliq is finally at a point where he’s truly embracing that he’s a tight end.”
Carr has appeared in 24 games for Michigan State since transferring from Purdue during the 2021 offseason. He has recorded 24 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns.

“Maliq (Carr) is finally at a point where he’s truly embracing that he’s a tight end. … We all know he’s a big, athletic guy, but he just wasn’t ready in my opinion the last couple years for certain situations.”
