The Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons all lost on Friday night, leaving the same three teams holding the second- and third-best NBA draft lottery odds entering their final game of the season.
Detroit has a record of 20-51, one game behind both the Thunder and Magic (21-50). The latter two teams are tied for the third-best lottery odds.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers also lost on Friday, keeping them in position of the fourth-best odds.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 0.5 games back from the Cavaliers but have a game on Saturday before closing the season Sunday, so they too are still in the chase for better odds.
If Minnesota loses to the Boston Celtics on Saturday, they would be tied for fourth-best odds, one game below the Thunder and Magic.
Here are the schedules for the teams:
Saturday
- Timberwolves vs. Celtics
Sunday
- Pistons vs. Miami Heat
- Magic vs. Philadelphia 76ers
- Timberwolves vs. Mavericks
- Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets
- Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Best-case scenario for the Thunder would be a tie for second-best odds with the Pistons. Most likely would be to remain tied for third. Worst-case would be a win while the other teams lose out, which would put OKC in a tie for fourth with the Cavaliers and Timberwolves.
Any tiebreaker will be determined through a random drawing.
