Both teams have significant injuries on both sides of the ball, but it’s the MAVERICKS (-134) who are the moneyline favorites in this contest. While Dallas has cooled off a bit over the last few games, the Lakers just don’t have the same kind of depth to absorb an injury to Davis. Expect this contest to be close, but take the Mavs to win at home.
Line/Against the Spread (ATS)
While the Lakers (+2.5, -115) continue to rack up wins, they’ve actually struggled mightily against the spread of late. The No. 1 seed in the Western Conference has covered in just three of its last 12 games, despite winning six in a row. Dallas hasn’t been much better against the spread, covering only twice in their previous nine contests. However, given the relatively small line, I like the MAVERICKS (-2.5, -106) to win by at least 3 points.
Over/Under (O/U)
The total for this potential Western Conference playoff matchup is set at 225.5, which feels a little low considering the caliber of offenses that will be on the court. Both the Lakers and the Mavs are in the top 10 in scoring, and both teams can shoot from three reasonably well. Expect this to be a fast-paced game and for the OVER 225.5 (+105) to hit late in this contest.
