Prediction

Padres 6, Dodgers 4

Money line (ML)

Back the PADRES (+150) to stay alive for one more day as a strong value bet. The Dodgers (-167) should still win the series, but it won’t be without a fight.

The Padres rank fourth in baseball with a .815 team OPS against right-handed pitching. The Dodgers are seventh with a .778 OPS against lefties.

LA has the superior bullpen by a considerable margin, but Morejon should last long enough to fend off a rally from the Dodgers.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The PADRES +1.5 (-110) are an even better play with one run of insurance in the event of a loss after losing Wednesday’s Game 2, 6-5. The Dodgers won the regular-season head-to-head series 6-4 but the series was split 5-5 against the spread.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 9 (-121) despite the juice with both teams faring well in their respective pitching split for Thursday. The Division Series is 1-1 against the O/U and the regular-season series was 5-5 with five games seeing 9 or more runs scored.
