Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Los Angeles Clippers (8-4) play the Sacramento Kings (5-7) in a Pacific Division game Friday at Golden 1 Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Clippers-Kings NBA betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Los Angeles got out to an impressive 61-43 first-half lead its last time out vs. the New Orleans Pelicans but lollygagged in the second half, winning 111-106 but not covering as a 12-point home favorite Wednesday. The Clippers’ superstars really brought it: Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined for 55 points on 16-for-34 shooting, 12 rebounds and 15 assists against the Pelicans.

The Kings played a similar game Wednesday except they fully choked a 20-point lead over the Portland Trail Blazers in a 132-126 loss in Sacramento. They out-rebounded the Blazers 42-38, shot better from the field and behind the arc, and threw 35 assists to Portland’s 28. The reasons the Kings lost are they turned the ball over five more times and couldn’t stop Blazers Gs Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum who scored a combined 68 points.

Sacramento was 2-1 straight up and against the spread in the 2019-20 season series with Los Angeles.

Clippers at Kings: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Clippers 119, Kings 116

Money line (ML)

PASS with a lean toward the Kings (+220) because I like Sacramento getting points in this spot. What’s keeping me away from sprinkling on the Kings’ money line is the Clippers looking like the second-best team in the Western Conference and Sacramento’s recent success vs. Los Angeles could motivate the Clippers.

Against the spread (ATS)

Betting on the Kings is a roller coaster ride that crashes at the end more often than not. Sacramento outplayed Portland and was ahead for 90% of the game Wednesday and not only did the Kings lose outright but they couldn’t even cover as 5-point home dogs.

The Kings are 1-6 ATS in their last seven and in four of the last five they’ve scored at least 123 points; however, the Clippers are 1-3 ATS in their last four and if Williams doesn’t play then Kawhi and PG are going to need to do a lot. Either way, I think Sacramento’s bench could cut into whatever lead Los Angeles’ starters build.

I’ll TAKE the KINGS +6.5 (-105) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

According to Pregame.com, nearly 80% of the action is on the Over yet the total has been brought down from 230.5. That movement can only mean the House is cool with bettors taking the Over. I don’t like how that sounds.

I only lean OVER 227.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit because the play seems obvious and I’m seeing weird number movement.
