Prediction

Giants 6, Angels 4

This is a tough one, surprisingly because of the offenses: The Halos rank fifth with a .787 OPS against righty pitching, and San Francisco places 12th versus lefties with a .796 OPS, and both of these pitchers give up hard contact — or, in Suarez’s case, contact in general.

But I’ll take the home squad.

Moneyline (ML)

  • Angels (+115)
  • Giants (-129)

Given my optimism on the Giants, this is a better bet to make than the run line, even though it’s not as close to a double-up as I’d want. Still, if I’m recommending one action from this preview, it’d be to BET the Giants’ moneyline.

New to sports betting? A winning $12.90 bet on the Giants’ moneyline would return a profit of $10.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

  • Angels +1.5 (-189)
  • Giants -1.5 (+155)

PASS on both. If you want to be bold and back the Giants’ sneaky-good home trends, tease this up to Giants -1.5 (+155).

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Giants -1.5 (+165) would return a profit of $15.50.

Over/Under (O/U)

  • Over 9 (-110)
  • Under 9 (-110)

I’m hesitant to wager anything involving the ceiling of these two offenses, but here’s a fun fact: The Giants are tied for a league-high 66.7% Overs (14-7-5 Over/Under record) and have been saddled with the fewest Unders in the majors, according to TeamRankings.

I’d throw a LIGHT BET on the Over 9 (-110).

New to sports betting? A winning $11 bet on the Over 9 (-110) would return a profit of $10.
