When Nebraska takes the field against Colorado on Saturday, it won’t be the first time Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has faced the Cornhuskers. In fact, Sanders faced Nebraska three times during his collegiate career.
Sanders played for Florida State from 1985-88. During that time, he would face Nebraska twice in the regular season and once during a bowl game.
The first meeting took place on Sept. 7, 1985, when the Seminoles traveled to Lincoln to face the No. 10 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. FSU would win that game 17-13.
The rematch would take place on Sept. 6, 1986, when Florida State made the trip to Lincoln again. Nebraska would win that year’s game by a score of 17-34.
Sanders would play Nebraska one more time during his Florida State career. The Seminoles would face Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 1988.
Florida State would win that game by a score of 31-28. Now, Sanders will meet Nebraska as a coach on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
