A former Nebraska quarterback is preparing to play in a championship game after completing his second straight undefeated regular season. Tommy Armstrong and the Omaha Beef finished the regular season 8-0 and have now won 19 straight games.

The Beef will host the Sioux City Bandits in the National Arena League Championship Game this weekend. In eight games this season, Armstrong has thrown for 936 yards and 19 touchdowns with three interceptions.

In 45 career games as a Husker, Armstrong threw for 8,871 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions. He ran for 1,819 yards and 24 touchdowns.

He ended his career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns. He held the record for total offense (10,690 yards), but that was broken in 2021 by Adrian Martinez.

The Omaha Beef and the Sioux City Bandits will play for the NAL Championship on June 15. Find a photo gallery of Armstrong’s Nebraska career below.
