Week Three: Central Michigan Chippewas
The first candidate on the list comes from Central Michigan. At first look, it doesn’t seem like a huge trap game for the LSU Tigers. However, the week prior they play McNeese, a game that has blowout written all over it. The Chippewas travel to Tiger Stadium one week before LSU heads to Starkville to battle Mississippi State.
It would be easy to overlook Central Michigan before the start of SEC play in late September. The Chippewas played just six games last year going 3-3. The offense averaged 31.3 points per game and the defense gave up 30.2, pretty much looking the part of a .500 football team.
The staff has to be careful not to overlook a team they are expected to beat pretty handily before hunting for retribution against Mike Leach and the Bulldogs.
