Ahead of the All-Star break, Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson gifted his teammates customized Beats by Dre earphones.

After a strong start to his NBA career, Zion Williamson found a way to thank his new Pelican teammates off the court recently. Williamson gifted each of his teammates customized Beats By Dre earphones. In a piece with Yahoo Sports, Williamson talked about gifting his team the headphones just before the All-Star break.

“I just thought it would be a nice gift for everyone and I’m glad they all liked it. That’s what matters to me, is that my teammates are enjoying them. I see them wearing it and it’s cool. I just wanted to do something special for them.”

Williamson hasn’t been the only one in a giving mood for the Pelicans this year. Lonzo Ball gave the team customized X-Box consoles as Christmas presents in December.

The Yahoo piece notes the close nature of the Pelicans locker room, which is largely comprised of younger players in the first years in the league.

The Pelicans locker room is one of the closest-knit groups in the league. Upon arriving to Los Angeles prior to taking on the Lakers, most of the team ventured out together for a day on the town. Big cities such as New York and Los Angeles, players tend to separate and go their own individual paths.

That level of chemistry certainly has played a role in the Pelicans’ resurgence in recent months. After being left for dead following their 13-game losing streak, the Pelicans are as close as they’ve been all season at returning to the playoffs.
