Tua Tagovailoa stole headlines on the first day of the Miami Dolphins training camp, but it’s not because of anything that happened on the field. The former Alabama star quarterback showed up rocking some new ink.
In a video shared on Twitter by USA TODAY’s Safid Deen, Tua explained that it is designed based on Samoan culture and has a deeper meaning. Without going into much detail, he said it has to do with protection and guidance among other things. He also mentioned that, in total, it took nearly two-and-a-half days to complete over three sessions.
Fans are excited to see Tua take the field for the 2023 season after an impressive 2022 campaign that was hindered by injuries. If he can stay healthy this upcoming season, many believe he could make a strong case to be in the MVP conversation.
Whether it’s what he’s capable of doing on Sundays or the new tattoo, fans love talking about Tua. Here’s what they had to say about the latter.
