The game plan for the Raiders and Derek Carr was simple on Monday; don’t be too risky. Against a short-handed defense, the Raiders did everything in their power to hold onto the ball and limit the number of possessions in the game.
For the most part, the Raiders did that well. Carr completed a high number of passes at or near the line of scrimmage and the Raiders scored touchdowns when they needed them.
However, the lack of a deep passing attack continues to be an issue for the Raiders. Once again, they did not complete a single pass beyond 20 air yards in Week 15. Here is the full passing chart by Carr via the NFL’s Next Gen Stats:

The Raiders sit at 7-7 and still have a chance to earn a Wild Card berth. However, they need Carr and the rest of the offense to play better if they want any shot of going on a three-game run.
