LOOK: Pitt transfer WR Jordan Addison is in Austin

Big news.

Steve Sarkisian was not joking by any means when he said he wanted to bring in over 30 new players for the 2022 season.

After going 5-7 in 2021, Sarkisian vowed to bring in reinforcements to help bolster what was a very depleted roster.

He did just that, securing the No. 5 recruiting class along with a top 10 class of transfers. Sark mentioned on Monday during a Texas Exes event that the Longhorns are not done in the portal yet.

That statement could have been foreshadowing, as the current No. 1 available player in the transfer portal, wide receiver Jordan Addison, posted an Instagram story from Austin on Tuesday.

The 2021 Biletnikoff winner is the hottest name on the market, and is the poster child of practically every NIL discussion imaginable. It is believed he is considering schools such as USC, Alabama, and Texas.

Longhorn fans are hopeful that his relationship with Texas’ new receiver coach Brennan Marion, who coached him at Pitt, will pay dividends in his recruitment.

Addison exploded in 2021 for 100 catches for nearly 1,600 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns.

If Texas were to add him they would have three receivers on the roster who had 12 or more touchdown catches last season in Addison, Xavier Worthy, and Isaiah Neyor. It would likely give them the best receiver corps in the country, as Alabama transfer Agiye Hall and Jordan Whittington are also a part of the talented room.

Update: Inside Texas has confirmed that Addison is indeed in Austin for an official visit with the Longhorns.
