Look: Oculus screen, ribbon video boards coming along at SoFi Stadium

SoFi Stadium will be finished before you know it.

Rams fans endured a long weekend of panic over the leaked logo that popped up on the internet, but there are still reasons to be excited about the upcoming season. One of those reasons is the upcoming opening of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood – a magnificent venue that will become the gold standard of stadiums in the U.S.

SoFi Stadium will open in July for a Taylor Swift concert, and a month later, the Rams and Chargers will play their preseason games there. With four months still to go, there’s a lot of work left to be done.

The focal point of the stadium is the Oculus video board, which is viewable from every seat in the house and unlike any other screen in the world. It’s double-sided and will feature 4K resolution videos, as well as the entire sound system for the stadium.

In a recent video shared by Mick Akers, you can see work has begun on the interior of the scoreboard with panels being installed every day.

Additionally, the ribbon video boards are going up around the stadium and appear to be functional.

The Rams also posted a video this week showing how the Oculus video board is being constructed, revealing what an arduous and time-consuming process it is.

Check out the video below, which goes in great detail.

SoFi Stadium is expected to cost about $5 billion, making it the most expensive stadium in the country.
