Tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska was one of the great scenes in collegiate athletic history. Fans of every Big Ten school can appreciate just how breathtaking it was to see 92,003 fans descend upon Memorial Stadium for a Nebraska volleyball game.
That number is officially the most people ever at a women’s sporting event. Yes, any women’s sporting event ever.
Nebraska head coach John Cook, who has been at the helm for 23 years and four national championships in Lincoln, took the mic to thank the crowd on a magical night for collegiate athletics.

Here is a look at his speech after the fans broke the attendance record:
“Thank you very much! There’s no place like Nebraska!”
