The past and the present collided at Soldier Field as former Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky and current Bears quarterback Justin Fields met ahead of Saturday’s preseason game against the Bills.
Trubisky, the former No. 2 overall pick, didn’t live up to expectations, and the Bears let him walk in free agency, where he signed a one-year deal to backup Josh Allen. With Allen not playing, Trubisky got the start against his former team.
Meanwhile, Chicago drafted their quarterback of the future in Fields, who will take over for starter Andy Dalton in the second quarter and is expected to play most of, if not all, of the second half.
