Think the city of Cincinnati was ready for Joe Burrow?
After endless speculation baked into an odd all-virtual path to the draft, the Cincinnati Bengals put to rest any doubt by taking Burrow at No. 1 Thursday night.
And a short while later, Burrow’s mug was already on a billboard in the tristate area, both announcing the pick and welcoming the Ohio kid home.
Burrow was technically already home as he took in the draft with his family in Athens, Ohio. And the when of actually getting Burrow to Paul Brown Stadium is an unknown given current global circumstances.
But for now? Just bask in the fact the city had a welcome of sorts ready for the big night, courtesy of WLWT’s Brandon Saho:
